Before replacing these, hoping someone has some other idea (maybe like a simple software glitch?). My guess is one is for the track buttons and the other for the keys. There are two ribbon cables from the keyboard to the system board. Only thought is maybe either the system board or the ribbon cable from the keyboard to the board went bad. Bought replacement keyboard from and replaced but still same exact issue so don't believe it is a faulty membrane (as suspected). Didn't install any new software or updates. Caps lock and F1 indicator lights don't work either.

Track button and click buttons on keyboard work fine. Was working fine, walked away for 15 minutes, came back to wake from sleep and no key response. My X1 Yoga keyboard stopped responding suddenly.
